The last story.... it really urks me... I would have called the cops if I was the father... and had her charged with attempted murder. Then gone to the court with the details of what happened, and had her rights officially revoked, and a restraining order placed.

Last story: the dad did not merely protect his kid. He willingly sacrificed his entire life. It only by good fortune ended up being 5 years of freedom and 1 whole career, but he was on a hook for life and that ain't no joking business. Dare I ever hope to have the courage and integrity of that man because he a damn paragon.

Last story: Speaking as someone who’s just as allergic to peanuts, OP’s mom should have been arrested on charges of attempted homicide. First degree, even, because that was definitely premeditated. She should consider herself damned lucky that all she lost was a boyfriend and visitation rights.

I have a Karen nurse story, but it wasn't at a hospital. As it relates to the story, I'm a transgender woman. This nurse came into my work to pick up a prescription and she was a total bitch toward both me AND the pharmacist on duty. That pharmacist hated dealing with her as much as I did. Karen also made transphobic comments in an online review about me. This was two years ago. Fast-forward to last year. Karen shows her ass up at the drive-thru. I never dealt with her at all that day. Karen starts going off on the tech ringing her while I'm dealing with a different customer at the pickup counter. She then conflates a tech with a pharmacist (both of whom were of East Asian descent), never mind that one of them has hair and the other is bald. Then the Karen starts pulling out her phone and recording us. She then points at me and blatantly LIES to one of the other techs about how I supposedly told her I was prettier than her. Joke's on Karen as I never once interacted with her AT ALL that day! Thankfully, I never saw her again after that. But another tech later told me how she looked up Karen on the Book of Faces and turned up a woman with a bunch of MAGA, pro-Trump, "Blue Lives Matter" right-wing bullshit all over her profile. Worst part? That Karen is ANOTHER MILLENNIAL! How the hell can she be a conservative? HOW? Our whole generation is supposed to be a progressive monolith!

What's almost as bad as people who don't believe in allergies are people who say they are allergic to ridiculous things. Like a restaurant reenactment video where a woman ordered pasta without "al dente" because she was allergic to it. Al dente is Italian for to the teeth and means pasta cooked perfectly. People like that just encourage the allergy deniers.

As someone with that has both asthma and being allergic to eggs, and I can tell you it is very scary being put in that position when having a allergic reaction and having an asthma attack at the same time as it it life threatening. That mother is an idiot she could’ve killed op if he actually ate the cake. I believe that op’s dad still should’ve taken op’s mum to court because that is child endangerment that she tried to commit.

Story 3: Breastfeeding is NOT easy. It’s demanding on the mother’s body. And bilirubins do not work that way. Jaundice treatment is sunlight/blue light. What a horrible stain on nursing everywhere. (My mom is a nurse and I work as a medical scribe, I saw red at that story)

In regards to Story 5, while it was rotten of Karen's ex-husband to cheat on her, I don't blame him for leaving her. That woman is clearly on a "three-fries-short-of-a-happy-meal" level of delulu! Its no wonder her daughter had behavioural issues - bad parental influence. Also, if we account for the fact that Karen shamelessly went out of her way to steal a married man - AND break up a whole other family - odds are, she could be a cheater herself, if not THE ONE who actually cheated!

While undergoing chemo I started having a reaction right after I left. I called the cancer center to tell them about it, and the nurse didn’t think much of it. Next session I had a full anaphylactic reaction.

I live in the UK an nurses from my local hospital got jailed recently for murder and mistreatment of elderly patients. So abusive hospital staff is more common around the world than people think.

Story 3: My mom tried to tell me that I didn't have enough breast milk for my first son when he was a baby. He didn't get jaundice and he was at a good weight, but for some reason, she wanted me to go on with my life, continue my education and get married, and give him up in the process. I refused and kept him, and I had plenty of breast milk to feed him. I just love these people who think they know another woman's body better than she does.

It seems fairly common for people to think allergies are fake. My aunt did that to my uncle, where she slipped eggs into his meal because she thought it was impossible to be allergic to bird eggs. Yeah he ended up in the hospital and she felt HORRIBLE about what she'd done. To her credit she was a VERY young bride and her mother put that bug in her ear so she believed her mom and she did indeed learn a very valuable lesson about allergies that she taught all three of the strapping tall sons she gave my uncle through the years. Oh yeah and of course she passed that lesson on to her little niece too 😅

I wonder if that mom could go to prison for attempted murder. That would be nice.

I work in a busy ER and there is absolutely no way a 10yr old child was able to fool all the doctors and nurses involved in his care that he was in a coma for ELEVEN DAYS. Regardless of what they show on TV, it's not like the person is just lying there sleeping peacefully. That mom was a complete whackadoodle and criminal charges should have been filed after she gave the poor kid the granola bar. It's a parent's job to protect their child, not accuse them of faking an allergic reaction, asthma attack and a coma "for attention". Is she that jealous of her own child?? Absolutely disgusting.

I remember giving birth to my first, at just turned 23 (ETA - in 2000) at Dandenong Hospital in Melbourne. They way they treated me was HORRENDOUS. From refusing to listen that the epidural wasn't working properly (guess what, it wasn't) to the Dr doing an internal so roughly that he put his whole hand inside me like I was a cow - I screamed from pain & flew up the bed trying to get away from him. Then after the birth an old bitch nurse walks past my room & stops to lecture me on the Environment & that I was a lazy mother using disposable nappies & a REAL mother would be using cloth nappies! I got SEVERE PPD after that. My 2nd child 3 yrs later I had in Dunedin Hospital in NZ. I could not fault ALL the nurses, the midwives & anyone else I came across in those 3 days I was there. What a HUGE HUGE difference! And guess what - no PPD!!

The story with the kid and the nuts. I'm allergic to dairy. Especially if it's fermented... cheese, yogurt, and even sourdough. It will cause a severe migraine. ( the kind where you want to delete yourself) Well, I guess my stepdad didn't believe me because he made a fish stew. I asked if he put cheese in it. ( it was one of the ingredients that was supposed to be in it). He said no, we don't have any. He lied. Within about 10 minutes after dinner, mom found me in my room crying. She asked what was wrong . I said my head felt like it was going to explode. I told her I didn't know why. As dad said, we were out of cheese, so there was none in the stew. She asked Stepdad about the cheese, and he admitted he lied to me because he didn't believe I was allergic to it. One of the very rare times mom ever stood up for me.

Listen, I completely understand having a skeptical mindset as I have one myself, but it needs to stop at a certain point before it becomes straight up dillusional. Thinking that allergies and asthma are hoaxes can only come from a mindset that hopped that line miles ago.

Last Story: *DIVORCE HER!*

As a mother I would have had a panic attack if one of my children had an allergic reaction to a food that got passed me when I checked the ingredients. Some parents are just evil.

Once, when my elderly mom was in a convalescent hospital someone who worked there took one of her hearing aids. She was deaf without them. 😾😡😵
